Carin McAtee
My name is Carin McAtee. Recently my life has shifted with my two children leaving the home to attend college. My husband and I decided to downsize our home and I realized I needed to revitalize my lifelong profession of teaching, this time to teaching yoga. As a veteran teacher from Mason Schools, teaching is at the heart of my calling. I began my yoga journey 10 years ago with a shoulder injury, as I was told it was all I could do for exercise; now yoga is all I want to do for exercise. Starting out, yoga was a very gentle physical activity and as the practice evolved, I brought in heated classes, meditation, and breathwork. Within the past 3 years, I have tried to incorporate body, mind, and spirit philosophies that I look forward to practicing daily in class. Currently, I try to live my yoga practice off the mat in life as well as on the mat. Yoga, through every stage, has helped me overcome many challenges in life as I have learned yoga is a journey and a constant practice. My hope is to share yoga with as many people as I can to show them how it can fit their life, no matter what phase of yoga they begin. Through yoga training, I hope to gain the tools and knowledge to share this life-transforming practice with others.
