awareness is everything

I have been teaching yoga for four years. My yoga journey began in response to a particularly stressful time. I decided to test yoga's reputation for calming the mind and I wasn't disappointed. Within a few weeks, I noticed a significant shift in my mindset. Over time my anxiety was reduced and my lower back issues that plagued me for several decades subsided. I was so impressed with the results that I decided to become a yoga teacher.

I often incorporate some of the mental insights and practices of Raja Yoga in my classes so students can experience both the physical and mental benefits of yoga. I am a biology teacher by training, so I sometimes include some scientific descriptions of how yoga impacts the body and mind.
