Be true to yourself be kind to yourself

My senior year of acting school in an undergrad degree, I was feeling anxiety about my future, whether or not I was good enough to be an actress, and overall had a negative outlook on life. It wasn't until one day in January 2018 my best friend took me to my first hot vinyasa flow, and I was hooked. Even though I didn't understand fully what was happening, whether I was doing it correctly, or why I felt so good, I wanted to explore more. Eventually, I was going to class every day and reading and learning as much as I could about yoga. It was then that it dawned on me that this is something else I very much want in life along with my theatre and film career. I want to delve into my yoga practice more each and every day, and help others feel as good as I do. Before I even graduated from college, I was researching where I could do Teacher Training in the Cincinnati area later in the year that would fit perfectly into my schedule, and that's how I found DRISHTIQ.

This studio has become my home, where I have made friends I never would have thought I would have, and have learned from such intelligent and inspiring women that make me want to be just as knowledgeable about the practice. Yoga is so much more than a physical exercise and second career to me, however. It's made my creativity as an actress 100% more clear and enhanced. It's how I cope mentally. It's gotten me out of many ruts and obstacles and has brought me closer to peace of mind I never thought I would achieve. I'm eternally grateful to have found yoga at a young age, and I intend to practice for years and years to come. With that all said, thank you for sharing your practice with me, as we learn and grow together. Namaste.
